Google Apps
A now essential freeware application is Google Apps - we have been using it since it's release with our clients, allowing us to communicate and share documents online.
Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04
Linux is a key element in the QL Studio mix, all our web servers use Linux and we also use Ubuntu Hardy Heron as a happy replacement to Windows or Mac OS.
Skype
We use Skype to chat between offices, with clients and friends because it offers free calls computer to computer using a system known as VOIP - basically using your internet connection to make a phone call.

A list of terminal hacks, short-cuts and time savers we use locally and via SSH to speed up daily tasks.
